- I have been teaching for 7 years - all at Fort Hamilton High School. I teach AP World History and US History. When I am not teaching, I am probably traveling or making travel plans. I have been to 33 states and 18 countries, not including the US. During Presidents' Week, I lead international student trips. So far we have been to Mexico and Greece.   Millions Participate in Hands Across America (1986)Hands Across America was a massive, heavily publicized fundraiser during which millions of people, including scores of celebrities and politicians, lined up in the hopes of forming a human chain stretching from New York to California. Though they did not succeed in this regard—there were many gaps along the way—the event raised $20 million.
