Schedule for the next few weeks

Hi Guys,

This is a tentative schedule of dates and topics. There may be some additional assignments and/or changes.

Monday Oct 25 - Museum Projects
Tuesday Oct 26 - Museum Projects
Wed Oct 27 - Museum Presentations
Thurs Oct 28 - Museum Presentations, Indian Ocean Thesis statements due
Fri Oct 29 - Half day, we don't meet. Please read about Meso-American societies in the Spodek text for Monday (pgs 94-112)

Monday Nov 1 - 1. In class topic - Empires in the Postclassical (BWH)
2. Assign Mongols HW: Compare and contrast the politcal and economic effects of Mongol rule on China, Russia and the Middle East. Make an outline with bullets or a chart (whichever is easier for you), but make sure to do all regions for both political and economic effects. No essay, please! This chart will be due Friday, Nov 5.

Tues Nov 2 - Election Day, no school
Wed Nov 3 - Empires in the Postclassical continued (BWH enrichment)
Thurs Nov 4 - Mongols
Fri Nov 5 - 1. Intro to Compare/Contrast (C/C) Essay - Compare and contrast the political and economic effects of Mongol rule on TWO of the following regions: China, Russia, Middle East
2. Mongols HW due
3. Write C/C Mongols essay over the weekend


Monday Nov 8 - 1. Spread of Islam in the Postclassical Period
2. Assign "Spread of Islam In a Nutshell", answer 2 questions at end for homework. Due Friday, Nov 12

Tues Nov 9 - Mongol C/C essay due for peer-editing in class. Final essay will be due Wed Nov 10

Wed Nov 10 - 1. C/C Mongols essay due
2. Family and Gender in the Postclassical Era (BWH)

Thurs Nov 11 - Veteran's Day, no school

Fri Nov 12 - 1. "In a Nutshell" questions due
